Meeting Thursday October 4th 2012

Hope everyone had a great summer and is ready to find some rocks. I had one good rock trip to Davis creek, California. Collected some nice rainbow obsidian. I will bring some to the next meeting.

We still need someone to step up and be the Field Trip Coordinator.

I will be leading the first field trip this Year. We will be going to the Wipple Mountains in Calif.
We will meet  at 8:00am Thursday Oct 18 at the Arco Gas station AZ Hwy 95 and Courtwright rd.
This will be 4wheel drive trip.

MOHAVE COUNTY GEMSTONERS SHOW April 14th & 15th 2012

This has been a pretty good show in the past. Lots of vendors and slabs for sale. Show will be on Saturday from 9am to 5pm. Sunday 9am to 4pm.
Location is 3420 N Burbank Kingman, AZ
From I-40 and Stockton Hill Rd; Go North on Stockton Hill rd and turn right on Airway Ave. go one block and turn right on Burbank. Go half way down the block and show will be on the left. Addmission is free.

Field Trip April 17th 2012

We will be going to a new area that was a old gold/silver mine. There is some good Yellow materal good for cabbing. I have seen a sample that looked like it had silver ore in it. Rich and Judy Kluge will be leading Us on this trip. We will meet at 9:am Tuesday April 17th 2012.
Directions; From Hwy-95 and El Rodeo Rd, Go East on El Rodeo Rd for 5miles to end of pavment. Meet on the right across from road to dump. YES this is the road Taco Bell is on. Sorry for My mix up at meeting.

Kirby & Marji Sims Open House April 7th 2012

Don't forget Sat April 7th open house from noon to 3pm. Kirby has done alot of great things with rocks and other things over the years. Address is 1472 Mirada.

March 2012 Field Trip to Burro Creek

We will be going to Burro Creek March 22nd, 23rd, 24th & 25th 2012.
We will have a Pot-Luck Saturday night at 5:00pm. Club will supply the BBQ chicken.
This is 2 and 4 wheel drive trip.
The Club has rented the group camping area at the BLM camp ground.
We will be going to a few of the areas we have been before and exploring some new areas.

Pat New's Shop tour February 18th 2012

Pat & Gisela New will be hosting a Open house for Club Members of Pat's rock shop on February 18th 2012. Between 10:00am and 3:00pm.  Address is 7344 Kaiser Drive Mohave Valley

Geolgogy of Mohave County Presentation Feb 11th 2012
